Today we see stories about royal families on TV, in movies, in literature, and more. Learning to draw a king is a great way to love some of that royal magic!

How to Draw A King
Step 1
We’ll start with this ruler’s head and face for the first step of our guide on how to draw a king. We have worked a lot on the details of this depiction, even if it is a more cartoonish interpretation of a king.
You can start by using some curved lines for the bridge of the nose with some points for the nostrils.
Next, we’ll add a mustache under his nose and some more curved lines for his slightly parted mouth.
We will then add thick stubble for the lower half of the face and some more rounded lines for the cheekbones.
Next, let’s draw some small eyes and eyebrows above her nose. The last look we add is hair that you can draw with curved lines.
The beginning of her crown will go towards her head with some slightly rounded lines, and then we can proceed.
Step 2
Every great king needs a crown, so we’ll finish drawing him in this second step of drawing your king!
Use curved lines to draw the golden sections of the crown, forming thin arches. Each of these bows has small circles for added decoration.
Then we draw more curved lines under these arches to form the soft, velvety part between the gold sections.
Finish with another circle on top to move on to step 3.
Step 3
Now we can start drawing the royal robe in this step of our how to draw a king guide.
This robe may have started with some curved lines with little dots in them for the soft lapels of his robe going down around his shoulders and down his chest.
We use the same lines for the equally soft sleeve opening. You can also draw a straight horizontal line for the table it rests on.
We’ll add more detail to these garments as we move on to the next few steps!
Step 4
For this step of your drawing of the king, we will add some details to the clothes you drew in the previous step and then add the other hand.
For now, add some bold, black dots along his robe’s furry lapels and sleeves. Next, draw his closed hand sticking out from another sleeve.
Finally, for this step, you can use some straight lines to draw the royal scepter he is holding in his hand.
It will have a round shape at the top to get to the final details in the next step.
Step 5
You have almost completed all the details for this image, but we still need to add a few lines in this step of our how-to draw a king guide.
Finally, with many curved lines, you can pull the rest of the sleeve over the right arm.
Once this case has been drawn, you are ready for the final step of the tutorial! Before proceeding, you can also add some personal information.
You could add a rich background behind him to complete the regal feel of this image.

Step 6
Now it’s time to finish this drawing of the king with some color! Members of the royal family often sport colors associated with royalty, such as red and purple, and we’ve included such colors in our example.
You could use similar colors for your illustration, or you could change the placement and change it up a bit.
